Pat Rodgers, chief coach and her band of helpers, Lawrie Smethurst, Daphne Halsey, Gerry Evans and David and Coral Sills have been running a ten week course at Chesham bowling Club to introduce seven to thirteen year olds to the sport of bowling.
Here they are receiving their Bronze and Silver awards.
The course was designed to encourage youngsters to participate in a sport which requires skill and concentration, yet each person can play at his/her own level and still achieve some success.
Bowls is a sport which can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Although it is known as “ an old man’s sport”, it is a sport which can be played by all. Our youngest member is eight years old and our eldest is ninety all competing on equal terms.
We are pleased with the way this course has progressed and are planning another course next year.
